Photo of the Day: 5-11-2011

There exists in the Fens straddling the bridge between the back entrance to the MFA and the War Memorial a tiny patch of Narnia. It’s untamed wilderness, until suddenly a tower sprouts forth from the trees with no neighbors and no warning. City noise is replaced with birds and laughter – cartoon doves sing with you as they perch themselves on your shoulders. It’s a magical place. The Disneyland of Boston (Faneuil Hall is Disney World – no soul). I have a bunch of pics from the Emerald Necklace – this was one of the prettiest. It kinda looks like someone super-imposed the Pru onto the bayou, or my elementary school playground – both places I only want to imagine, not visit. There is more to come, but in the mean time, dream of spring, and enjoy this small slice of Narnia, or the bayou, I captured for you.
