Blown-glass artist Chihuly is displaying some of his work in a free exhibit at the MFA this month. Beneath the newly erected Art Of the America’s Wing bizarre and colorful creations await. I’ll have more text to come, but here’s a quick slideshow of some pics from the day.
Remember the movie Ferngully? It was like Avatar but hand-drawn and instead of cool dragons Robin Williams voiced a fruit bat? The art kind of evoked that movies spirit, minus the fruit bat. Click the picture below for the slides.

Also, for my JR408 class, I had to upload a few vids. I had shot some footage of X from last months “City-wide Bike Ride,” so I elected to use that. I let Youtube put some random music to the footage for me. I’m surprised my little Sony Cybershot could make video of this quality. Very simple stuff – probably going to be some stock footage for a better video I put together later, but here it is anyways.
And in a personal update, Red the Mountain Bike has been retired after a brief and painful stint as my steed. I upgraded to an old blue Raleigh street cruiser I bought from a guy in a van in a supermarket’s parking-lot in Cambridge. It was the ultimate Craigslist transaction. I’m still considering names for my new ride and suggestions are welcome – she’s fast, skinny, hurts my but to ride but totally worth it.
